Safari FAQ
Everything you need to know before embarking on your African adventure.
What is the best time to go on safari in Africa?
The best time varies by destination. Generally, the dry season (June–October) offers the best game viewing as animals congregate around water sources. The Great Migration in the Masai Mara peaks July–September. We advise based on your specific destinations and interests.
What vaccinations and health precautions do I need?
Requirements vary by country but typically include Yellow Fever vaccination (required for some countries), malaria prophylaxis, Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid and Tetanus. We provide a comprehensive health briefing and recommend consulting your travel health clinic 6-8 weeks before departure.
What is included in your safari packages?
Our packages typically include accommodation, all meals, twice-daily game drives, park/conservation fees, and airport transfers. Flights, visas, travel insurance, personal items and gratuities are usually excluded. Each package clearly lists inclusions — we're totally transparent on this.
Is a safari suitable for children and families?
Absolutely. Many of our lodges welcome children from age 5+, and we offer dedicated family safari itineraries with age-appropriate activities. Our guides are experienced with younger guests and know how to keep children engaged and excited throughout the experience.
How do I book and what is your cancellation policy?
Booking requires a 30% deposit with the balance due 60 days before departure. We offer flexible cancellation: full refund up to 90 days prior, 50% refund 60–89 days prior. Within 60 days, we work to rebook you or provide a travel credit. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
What should I pack for a safari?
Neutral-coloured lightweight clothing (khaki, olive, beige — avoid bright colours and white), a good hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, camera equipment, comfortable walking shoes and a light fleece for early morning game drives. We send a full detailed packing list upon booking.
